The career of a pop artist can, and often is, a long, painful struggle. Most of our brightest stars seem to emerge from nowhere to superstardom overnight belying the years and years of hard work, dedication and disappointment. Rupert Holmes is such an artist. These recordings, made between 1969 & 1972, display the unique talents and insights of a young writer/performer trying desperately to make his mark. On the strength of this material (and a few more years of obscurity), Rupert Holmes has now arrived. This record offers sample testament why.
