In this all new documentary, the story of Little River Band is told from the early days in Adelaide and London, through to their stunning international success. Featuring brand new interview footage with key founding members Beeb Birtles, Glenn Shorrock and Graeham Goble, along with famed bass player George McArdle, manager Glenn Wheatley and long time engineer Ern Rose. It includes never before seen footage from Glenn Shorrock’s personal 8mm home movie collection of LRB’s first US tour.
Also included is a full concert, filmed in 1978 on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House, capturing the band at the height of their powers, performing to over 100,000 people.
In 2005, the DVD "It’s A Long Way There" was pressed and scheduled for release by EMI/Capitol, but threatened legal action by Stephen Housden, prevented its release. Housden (who claims ownership of the LRB trademark) warned EMI/Capitol, that they could not use the LRB trademark to promote this documentary.
